I call August “crunchy grass month.” Stay hydrated because it’s hot out there!

I’ve shared this number before, but it’s been updated. And I want you to know about it. As of August 4, more than $1,162,841.28 has been raised through our annual conference by people like you to support flood victims in the Kerrville area. We are part of that! We’re also proud to know a couple of our members joined the relief efforts in person. Thank you for your generosity and prayers.

This Sunday, we continue our Summer Sermon Series, Traveling Mercies. Did you think I was joking about the Kelsey day trip to Denver? This week we’ll explore Luke 10:1-12 and what it means to pack lightly. It’s also Blessing of the Backpacks Sunday. That's always a fun time to see all our students, teachers, and staff together. I hope you’ll be there to help us pray for them.

Also, I have a bit of personal news to share. Starting next week, I’m officially beginning my pursuit of a Doctor of Ministry. It’s something I’ve thought about for a while but had to put off over the last couple of years (Angry face at cancer!). Don’t worry. My studies won’t interfere with my responsibilities to our congregation. I’ll just get credit for all the reading and writing I already do!
