Kelsey Connect | February 5, 2026
Hola Kelsey Family, There are three things to remember about this weekend. First, the United Methodist Men's Valentine's Party is this Saturday. This is always a fun event. Everyone has a good time sharing a meal together, playing a few games, and enjoying each other's company. Oh, and there's usually door prizes. I won't tell you, but I know who will get this year's Sweethear Award! Then the Kelsey Kids will take up the Noisy Offering during worship. Every once in a while, while they're up front waiting for the others to finish bringing their change, one of the children will ask me, "What's this money for?" As a reminder, all the Noisy Offering money goes directly to our ministry with children. And not only do you get to make sure we have a children's ministry, isn't it fun to see their smiling faces running around the sanctuary? Finally, after worship ends, we'll have some fun at the Kelsey Youth's annual Souper Bowl. I've been told this fundraiser dates back to the 20th century, and for good reason. The weather is usually perfect for some good soup. Plus, all proceeds go to support our Kelsey Youth. And don't forget to wear your favorite team jersey or apparel. Speaking of supporting ministry...many people have told me they greatly appreciate the daily text messages I send. I've had more than a few people say, "How did you know I needed to hear that?" Thank you for your generosity that allows me to offer a ministry like that. Every text message comes signed from KelseyUMC. That means you're a part of that blessing every day at 8:50 am. I'm still working on the sound and video quality of our livestream for those who can't make it to Comanche Street on Sundays. But if you can make it, I keep praying you will. Stay blessed...john P.S. They came late, but the large-print edition of The Upper Room are in. For more infomation visit:

The Path to Spiritual Growth
This week's resource is a classic. If you’re looking for a practical and grace-filled way to deepen your relationship with God, Richard Foster’s Celebration of Discipline is a wonderful place to start. Foster explores spiritual practices like prayer, Scripture, worship, and simplicity (think of what Wesley says are the ordinances of God) not as religious obligations, but as pathways into a life of freedom and love with God. This book helps us see how our everyday habits can shape our hearts and keep us rooted in God’s presence. It’s honest, accessible, and deeply transformative. Many readers find it a lifelong companion for staying spiritually grounded and growing in faith. For more infomation visit: https://www.amazon.com/Celebration-Discipline-Richard-Foster/dp/0340979267

Stay in love with God
++Apologies for the bad audio and video quality on this video++ What does it really mean to stay in love with God? In this message, we explore Jesus’ call to follow him, the 3 Methodist General Rules, and why faith is more than just what we believe. Faith is something we experience.
