Our Beliefs

We believe in the life of Jesus we see God. And through the power of the Holy Spirit within us, we are continually renewed and made into a “new creation.” A term we Methodists use is “practical divinity.” For us, that means expressing our love and belief in God in practical ways every day we have life.

Kelsey is a United Methodist congregation. We are a part of a global denomination with a rich, diverse and even flawed history of trying to live out our faith in Jesus.

As a United Methodist church, we uphold basic Christian beliefs, such as

1. a belief in the Holy Trinity (God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit)
2. a reliance on the Bible as God’s word revealed to us
3. a belief that we are made in the image of God
4. the church is Christ’s body, given to share the love, mercy & grace of God with the world
